About the collection - “Asyu”

Asyu”, (a feminine Turkish name meaning “ moon water”), is a collection reflecting multi-cultual origins and melding opposite art influences to accomplish a new wearable aesthetic dialog. Japanese art, which is embedded in nature and spirituality is juxtaposed with French 18th century Rococo; Opaque and acute Japanese precision lines must meet the airy lightness off the late Baroque. This collection features reference to the intricate Moth species, responsible for pollinating flowers that only bloom at night, as well as the Turkish stone, Oltu, that is very soft when excavated and only begins to harden when exposed to the air. Both insect and mineral are mysterious and transitional. “Asyu” fabrics and imagery are from an eclectic global offering ranging from Japanese street style to Turkish calligraphy and art Nouveau. Other more obscured Influences in this collection are very elemental, such as pigment, light, water, and sound, emphasizing mood, sensitivity, direction, and movement. www.rachaeldomingo.com

Diva's Cupcakes & Coffee is proud to host...

MEET THE AUTHOR

Thursday, July 15th @ 7:00pm

featuring...

E.D. PEDERSEN

and his newest book,
ENIGMATARIUM

Enigmatarium is a story founded on light and darkness. It begins with Jack, a young man who is the victim of a magic beyond his imagining. This magic has come to be known as the Jester Spell. It is a spell that transforms its victim into a deformed marionette. This is but the first knife to cut away a shroud covering his entire world. As time passes for him and as new characters come into his life, he begins to realize that truth becomes the only pursuit in a world that continually
changes, a place where evil becomes good, enemy becomes friend and each new lie creates a seemingly endless prison of twists and turns. Together with some unlikely friends, they all strive to unravel the secrets of the Enigmatarium. But some secrets, they learn, are far more terrifying than anything they could ever fathom. And just when they think they may have figured it out, tragedy finds a way into their hearts. The Enigmatarium is a place where reality and fantasy combine with no clear boundaries, where time spans centuries, where magic and death go hand in hand with life and loss. And just as one world must endure its Onyx ruler, another world is simultaneously being governed by one of Pearl. Take the journey, play the game, trust no one and enter the Enigmatarium. It is waiting to welcome you to your fantasy.

We are so excited to announce our newest venture here at Diva's...

Book Signing Events!

We have partnered up with local Authors and set up an intimate evening of readings, exclusive Q & A, book signings, and of course cupcakes, cupcakes and more cupcakes!
Our first event will be Tuesday, November 24th @ 6pm with author

Jennifer Anderson

and her book

"Ill Wind in Egypt"

“Khamsin” is the word for “50” in Arabic. In Egypt, it is the name given to the annual 50-day spring windstorm. The khamsin winds of 1983 uncover a reclining megalith, half-visible with its stone-faced guardian through the desert’s swirling sands. Television journalist Ava Barby finds her work annoyingly predictable. But there’s nothing at all ordinary when she reports the discovery of a pharaoh’s tomb. Surprisingly, the tomb contains no treasure for the pharaoh to use in his afterlife. What happens next will change history. Did ancient raiders steal the tomb’s treasures or was the theft more recent? In seeking answers, Ava finds herself involved in a mystery that erupts in murder. The scheme of an ancient despot creates terror with a twist as this enthralling tale is brought to life in Ill Wind in Egypt.

A bit About the Author...

Jennifer Anderson is a former foreign correspondent who now lives in Salt Lake City. She is the editor of the World News Forecast, a publication for subscribing news desks around the world. “The Pyramids of Giza tell Egyptians they are a great people. During and after a sojourn there as a television journalist in the 1980s, I felt driven to broadcast the splendor of the country’s venerable culture.”
She is now working on her next novel.

This is an open invitation to all, so feel free to bring your friends and family along too! And if you know of any local authors that would love to participate, please contact Gordon Wilkins @ 801.485.0619
